Everything above ground depends on what happens below it. We set out, dig, and pour footings and slabs, run drainage and lay the base for extensions, new builds, driveways and garden rooms. It is unglamorous work and it is where a build is won or lost.

Foundations done properly
Trial holes first, then dig to the depth the ground actually requires rather than the depth that suits the programme. Everything is inspected by Building Control before concrete goes anywhere near it. Where ground conditions are poor or there are trees nearby, we will tell you early — it is far cheaper to find out at quote stage than mid-dig.
Drainage
New connections, diversions around extensions, replacement runs and soakaways. We survey what is already there before we design anything new, because assuming where a Victorian run goes is a good way to find out expensively.
Slabs and hardstanding
Insulated slabs for habitable rooms, reinforced slabs for garages and workshops, and compacted MOT sub-base for driveways and patios. Levels are set and checked before the pour, not corrected afterwards with screed.
